Deutscher Trip 2015 – Part Seven: Potsdam and East Side Gallery

On my second day in Berlin I travelled out to Potsdam to visit friends at the university.

I didn’t realise until I got there that Potsdam University occupies a palace and it is absolutely spectacular.

After having breakfast with a friend we went for a walk through Park Sanssouci before meeting another friend at another campus of the university. Park Sanssouci has many marvelous buildings including some that look like they belong in Alice in Wonderland.

In the afternoon a friend showed me around Kreuzberg and the East Side Gallery, which unfortunately has had much of the graffiti art ruined by normal graffiti.

I then wrapped up the day by visiting the DDR Museum and exploring more of the tourist areas around Mitte including Checkpoint Charlie, Potsdamer Platz and the Sony Center.
