Docker CFLAGS march=native and illegal hardware instruction
I’ve recently hit an interesting issue involving Docker containers and compiled C code crashing code with illegal hardware instruction
errors.
In a nutshell the Docker image was built on a server using Jenkins. It has been running fine until the underlying host orchestration software and physical hardware changed.

A little while back I went on a day hike with a friend to Lockleys Pylon in the Blue Mountains. Other than the craziness of driving a 2WD down what was clearly a 4WD track into the start of the hike it was a great day out.

In late winter 2017 I travelled to the Far North of New Zealand. Over two days I took the long route back to Auckland.

2018 – The Year of Personal Development
2018 has been a great year. I changed career, set up a new apartment and celebrated good times with friends.
I have also posted very few blog posts (only 4!), I’m well over a year behind in editing photos from trips. However, life has been busy and I’m being slightly more restrained in what I chose to post online.

In 2019 the Supercars series will not be competing at Sydney Motorsport Park Eastern Creek Raceway.
This is disappointing because for fans attending the track as it is one of the few venues with excellent viewing opportunities right around the track.

This month is R U OK Day and next month is Mental Health Awareness Month, in light of this I’m writing this piece to share some of my story, but more importantly a few of the techniques, articles and videos which have been a tremendous help for me over the last year. Ultimately, the key piece of advice I can give is to seek professional help if you are overcome with thoughts or emotions, it has done me a world of good.
Western USA and Canada Adventures – Part Ten: Calgary and the Rocky Mountains
The final weekend of my trip was spent visiting a friend who lives in the cowboy town of Calgary. During the weekend we headed off to Canmore at the base of the Rocky Mountains and did some hiking in the mountains immediately behind Canmore and then up to Big Beehive and on to The Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House at Lake Louise.
